The Jersey City Condo Lifestyle

Living in a Jersey City condo is a much different lifestyle than living in a private house. Each can provide a great way of life; however, each is very different. As a result, deciding which is the correct style of life for the potential real estate buyer should be thought through in the beginning of the real estate search process.

Living in a Jersey City Private House

There are some great positives to living in a private Jersey City house. For example, if the home owner likes to garden or would like to have a large backyard for their small children to play, then purchasing a private house in Jersey City is the right move. Also, if an individual likes to do “projects” around the house, purchasing a private home is again a smart move.

As much as some love these types of projects, others want no part of them. Private home owners must make sure they keep up on house repairs, lawn maintenance and more. These costs can vary from year to year, depending on what repairs are needed or if the homeowner would like to make upgrades to the house.

Living in a Jersey City Condo

Just like there are some great positives to live in a private house, there are lots of positives to owning a Jersey City condo. Unlike in a private house, issues such as roof repair, snow removal and lawn maintenance does not become the responsibility of the condo owner. A Jersey City condo owner pays a monthly fee or assessment that is used collectively for repairs, maintenance and upgrades around the building. These funds are managed by either a building association or management company to ensure the funds are used properly and repairs are done in a timely manner.

Another positive when living in a Jersey City condo is that there are often secure entrances and exits to the building, providing an extra level of safety and comfort. Some complexes even have attended lobbies and can accept packages while out at work during the day.

Deciding on a Jersey City Condo or a Privately Owned House

Ultimately, deciding on whether a Jersey City condo or a private house is a very personal one. It is important the potential owner think about their lifestyle, their likes and their dislikes and which home style will accommodate their lifestyle the best.
