Jersey City Rental Gardening 101

One aspect of Jersey City rental living often has one negative for many; the inability to enjoy their own personal garden. There are things a renter can do, however, to have a small garden in their Jersey City rental.

A Garden in a Jersey City Rental

Live plants in a Jersey City rental, regardless if they are simple houseplants or garden-type plants, are great for a variety of reasons. They help regulate humidity within a closed space, convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, improve air quality and can even help improve an individual’s mood! Many also claim indoor plants have helped reduce their blood pressure.

The easiest place to have a garden in a Jersey City rental is if there is a balcony available. Small creeping plants, such as tomatoes and other traditional vegetables, can be planted right in a medium-sized pot and not take up much room at all!

If a patio or balcony is not available in an individual’s Jersey City rental, there are still plenty of gardening options. For example, another great garden possibility is a small herb garden, which is a great way to add freshness to everyday cooking. There are several small herb garden kits available that are perfect for a kitchen counter or near a window. Some come complete with small lighting to help the plants grow! Another great place for a small herb garden is a window box.

Bonsai gardening is a great way to relieve stress and can turn into a very rewarding hobby! Bonsai plants are just the perfect size for Jersey City rental gardening. Many choose to begin with the traditional and popular Japanese maple and after they gain some confidence, they move on to other plants. Ultimately, these plants can turn into a unique indoor garden!

Jersey City Rental Garden Planning

There are a variety of different types of gardens an individual living in a Jersey City rental can develop. All it takes is some planning and research as to which plants make the most sense for the space available within the Jersey City rental.
