The Real Estate Market: NJ Condos

The NJ real estate market is starting to bounce back after the recent economic and real estate downturn. One of the best real estate options in New Jersey that retain their value are NJ condos.

NJ Condos as a Property Investment

While NJ condos are a great living alternative to single-family homes, many are considering purchasing a condo as an investment property to rent out for additional income.

During the economic downturn the rental market is still very strong. As a result, purchasing one of the available NJ condos for as a rental unit is a great supplemental income option. Many renters look for long-term rental opportunities, so telling the potential renter upfront that this will function as an investment property may help rent the condo quicker than one that is currently listed as a rental unit as a way to hold out until the market improves and put out a “for sale” sign. Many renters also like the idea of having all the amenities available to them that NJ condos offer as opposed to an apartment. Additionally, a renter will not need to worry about lawn and property maintenance or snow removal in the winter. These issues often pop up if a renter considers a space in a private home.

Today’s low mortgage interest rates and mortgage financing options, coupled with a still lower-priced market than in the past, many are taking advantage of the NJ condos for sale, whether as a primary residence or a rental property. Added to the sustainability and often positive return on investment, NJ condos are always a safe investment.

Why NJ Condos are Better than NY Condos

Some may consider purchasing a NY condo instead of a NJ condo, figuring the market is oftentimes higher in price and ultimately, in value. However, this can often not be completely true, as well as the many detractors worth considering when making this type of decision.

For one, many NJ condos often come with parking, unlike NY condos. Additionally, storage is always a consideration and NY condos often lack decent storage. NJ condos are also often half the price on average, as compared to NY condos. Overall, that makes NJ condos a logical, and much more economical, option, regardless of whether the purchase is for investment or a primary residence.
