Since the late 1940’s, the Jersey City Development Agency has worked to create community opportunities and to attract commercial, residential and industrial real estate projects to the area. This organization recognized long ago the opportunities that Jersey City could provide, both as a place to live as well as provide opportunities for companies have their offices in New Jersey’s second largest city.
Jersey City Real Estate & Residential Opportunities
One of the primary goals of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency is to work to create Jersey City real estate opportunities for all. The Agency is focused on improving the quality of life of all residents of the city by working to create development and reinvestment opportunities in all of the city’s communities in a responsible fashion.
Everyone wants to enjoy where they live. The top goal of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency works to enhance the quality of life and improve the economic and housing opportunities available to Jersey City residents by working to build sustainable communities throughout the city.
Jersey City Real Estate & Corporate Opportunities
Another important part of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency is to create positive economic conditions in order to attract companies to Jersey City. By doing so, it provides the opportunity to create thousands of jobs. A great side-effect of doing so is it helps to increase Jersey City real estate property values.
Redevelopment Projects & Jersey City Real Estate
The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency is currently working on dozens of projects throughout the city. Many of these projects include what are referred to as “mixed-used” properties. Often this means the first, and perhaps second, floors provide retail space and the remaining higher-level floors will provide different residential configurations. Other projects are focused on residential-only projects. Still others work to provide open space and make land acquisitions for recreational opportunities for its residents.
One of the most recent open space project is the Berry Lane Park project. This project will result in a nine percent increase in open space for Jersey City and its residents. This project will create a park of 13.5 acres and will be built on the locations of former rail yards, warehouses and auto repair shops. Upon the park’s completed restoration, it will be one of the largest parks in Jersey City. While many consider parks a “nice to have,” these types of features of a neighborhood can provide an important bump to Jersey City real estate property values.
