Homes in Jersey City: Crossing the River

Hop on the New Jersey Turnpike, or New Jersey Transit rail line on a Friday afternoon in the summertime – dare you! Even the savviest commuter will be confronted with traveling conditions and a time commitment set to test the most patient temperament.

The commute into New York City from most places is not easy – regardless the time of year. This generally does not hold true, however, from homes in Jersey City

Jersey City, which features 11 miles of waterfront that face the world’s most spectacular skyline, blends diversity and expansion. Several Fortune 500 companies have established operations in Jersey City, also home to New Jersey City University, Saint Peter’s College and Hudson Community College.

Jersey City boasts dozens of world-class dining destinations and entertainment options to satisfy the most discriminating individuals. But for those who choose homes in Jersey City, the biggest benefit may be its access to the Big Apple.

Why endure the commuter’s struggle when one can quickly cruise across the Hudson River to work on a ferry or PATH train? There is no need to experience a long, nightmarish commute when your point of origin is one of the many homes in Jersey City.

Consider the following commuting options from Jersey City into New York:

  • PATH Service – Provided by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, few routes are as direct to New York as the 24-hour PATH train. Jersey City’s Grove Street and Exchange Place stops provide direct links into the city at a reasonable price.
  • Ferry Service – New York Waterway ferry service is also a viable and, more importantly, enjoyable option. Boats frequently leave from Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor.
  • Driving/Buses – Jersey City drivers have easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike, and both the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels. New Jersey Transit also operates bus service into New York.
  • Jersey City’s unique community is difficult to resist. When one considers Jersey City’s proximity to New York – for both work and play – the picture becomes even more attractive.

So next time you’re stuck on a slow track down the coast line, or slamming the breaks on the New Jersey Turnpike, keep in mind the transportation benefits delivered by homes in Jersey City.
